Invenergy hosts Open House for Towner Solar Energy Center
Invenergy recently hosted an Open House for the Towner Solar Energy Center. Held at the Towner Senior Citizens Center on September 29, the event gave the community a chance to learn more about the project, ask questions, and engage directly with the project team.
“We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend our open house and gave us the opportunity to share more about the Towner Solar project,” said Natacha Kiler, Director of Development. “Invenergy has a long history of developing energy generation projects in Kiowa County, and events like this help us strengthen local relationships as we continue to deliver these investments to the community.”
The Towner Solar Energy Center is a proposed 450-megawatt solar facility that will include a battery energy storage system in Kiowa County. This project will invest millions of dollars in the local community through increased tax revenue, landowner payments, and employee wages and benefits, and will create up to eight long-term local operations & maintenance positions.
“Kiowa County has already seen the real economic benefits that Invenergy projects on the east end can deliver, from millions of dollars in impact fee payments and support for local services to long-term property tax revenue,” said Kiler. “Towner Solar will build on that success by bringing new investment, expanding the county’s tax base, and continuing Invenergy’s proven track record of developing and delivering energy projects that create lasting value for Colorado communities.”

The Invenergy team was glad to have the opportunity to meet with community members and answer questions about the Towner Solar project.
